Hotel Fanes Drehsauna
It is a sauna with a cylindrical base that floats 9 m above the ground, revolves around itself and offers a view of the surrounding Dolomites through a large panoramic window. In analogy to the five elements of ancient traditions (fire, air, water, earth and ether), a symbolism was chosen for each of the materials from which it was built. The five main materials are wood, fire, earth, metal and water, also in the context of their relationship to the surroundings and the landscape.

- The entire process was precisely accompanied by 3D planning - and this was also necessary to do justice to this unique architecture in the interior and in the overall concept. An architectural achievement to which Interior Design has given magnificent expression.
- Challenges
- This circular construction was particularly challenging due to the aesthetic implementation and the close connection to the surrounding landscape. And this despite the fact that the sauna "approaches" the ground with the same self-regulation and "floats" above it again. Particular attention was paid to the insulation concept. Solutions from HDA and GIP were used to create an all-round thermally insulated room. Experience and expertise were also relied on for the supporting structure - in this case from METEK and KATMETAL. A system was developed that was implemented using laser technology and enabled complete pre-assembly and welding work.
