HELiOS PDM powerful in electrical engineering through Zuken E3 integration
The PDM system HELiOS is integrated in leading electrical engineering systems in addition to the most well-known CAD systems for mechanical design. Therefore, HELiOS is also integrated into the globally used ECAD system Zuken E3. As with all our system interfaces, our PDM solution can be used in its own menu bar in Zuken E3, which means that many PDM advantages are available to you directly from the Zuken E3 environment you use every day.

Zuken E3 and HELiOS PDM - How it works:
In the HELiOS - Zuken E3 interface that we have created we have relied on a two-part integration for an optimal user experience - without wasting time on unnecessary work. Firstly, there is the integration in Zuken E3 Cable - the desktop application that every user uses daily - and secondly, there is an article synchronization that communicates between HELiOS and Zuken E3 DB.
Integration with Zuken E3 Cable offers you among others the following possibilities:
- Quick search and find of your drawings
- Easy access with and without editing rights
- Check-In/Save Logic
- Information on all articles and documents
- Simple creation of AutoCAD drawings including external references and the corresponding article and document roots at the push of a button
- Placing of information points with article context in assembly drawings possible (AutoCAD Mechanical)
- Evaluation of information points to generate product structures in PDM, which can be synchronized with the AutoCAD part list (AutoCAD Mechanical)
- Configurable mapping between AutoCAD and HELiOS attributes (including filling of part lists and title blocks with HELiOS attributes via Iproperties)
- Configurable update logics for new index levels of built-in references
- Creation and selection of PDM projects and folders directly from CAD
Automation prevents errors and unnecessary work
The article synchronization service between HELiOS and Zuken E3 DB ensures that the article information between HELiOS and its Zuken E3 article database is always consistent. When new articles are created in Zuken E3 DB, they are synchronized directly to HELiOS, and changes are then reconciled in both systems in a configurable manner.
If you link our PDM system to your ERP system, it is additionally possible to offset mechanical and electrical bills of materials against each other during the transfer to ERP. This makes the error-prone elimination of duplicate items in BOMs of mechatronical products unnecessary.
