Highlights

New design change window and favorites in the start center
Switching between designs is now much clearer—including a preview view and favorites function in the start center. Instead of an empty design, a "+" window appears for expansion, and the message "No design in memory" is completely eliminated.

Optimised attribute display and manual control
New, clear symbols in the parts properties window ensure complete transparency: you can see immediately whether an automatically calculated attribute is up to date or whether a recalculation is necessary. You also have this clarity in the attribute masks. And best of all, you can easily switch the attributes to manual entry in both windows.

Hide areas using the ALT key
You may be familiar with this from the HCM conditions: you can use the ALT key to hide individual areas. We have now rolled out this convenient feature system-wide. Wherever you select points, edges or areas, you can use ALT to hide them.

Enhanced display of point clouds
In addition to point size, brightness can now also be adjusted individually. Three new display options provide greater depth: black outlines emphasise edges and corners, while soft transitions enhance the spatial effect. This makes the position of parts in the point cloud much easier to recognise.

Clipping reset for point clouds
Clipping can now be completely reset with a single click, making the entire point cloud visible again immediately. In addition, new display options with adjustable brightness, black borders, emphasised edges and smoother transitions provide even greater depth and clarity.

Splines in the Sheet Metal module
For the first time, splines can now be displayed along a sketch in the Sheet Metal module – for even more versatile and precise design options. Further enhancements will follow in upcoming service packs.

Views and drawing sheets even more flexible
Working with large assemblies often requires reducing the view to a few parts. However, constantly showing and hiding parts takes time and effort. The solution can be found in the view's context menu, where you can easily save the current parts list. Briefly show an assembly and then immediately return to the saved ideal state. You can overwrite this state as often as you like or forget it if necessary.

Duplicate drawing sheets
A real highlight in HiCAD 2026 is the new "Duplicate" function for drawing sheets. This function is now available via the context menu of the drawing sheet. The entire sheet is copied – including all views, dimensions and texts. The section and detail markings are of course retained in full. The advantage for you is that you can now create customer drawings, test plans and variants in a flash, saving hours of work.

Universal deletion of dimensions
All dimension objects in the drawing sheet can now be deleted freely and flexibly – as required.
By holding down the Shift key, entire dimension structures can be removed at once – for fast and intuitive post-processing of drawings.

New connection: Head plate for intersecting profiles
The "Head plate" connection has been added to the steel construction function. This function allows a vertical profile (e.g. a column) to be connected to two other intersecting profiles arranged at right angles to it via a head plate.

New dialogue box in the LogiKal interface
A new dialogue box now provides a detailed overview of all edits in HiCAD. A report or log lists which edits were successful and which ones encountered problems. The list clearly displays all updated elements. Clicking on an entry highlights the corresponding element directly in the design.

Kinks can now be displayed
For single-piece profiles – such as trapezoidal, corrugated or cassette profiles – the roof pitch at the ridge is now visualised by a precise kink. This allows the geometry of the roof to be depicted even more accurately. The realistic representation facilitates design, improves dimensional accuracy and ensures error-free production and installation planning.

New IFC viewer for IFC import
The IFC viewer is now integrated directly into the import dialogue. The viewer opens automatically when an IFC file is imported. This allows you to easily select individual or multiple components and, if necessary, exclude them from the import. You retain a complete overview during the import process. Unwanted or unnecessary components can be quickly filtered out, saving time and ensuring clean, clear project data.
